Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics and electromagnetism. The field first became an identifiable occupation in the late nineteenth century after commercialisation of the electric telegraph and electrical power supply. It now covers a range of subtopics including power, electronics, control systems, signal processing and telecommunications.
In view of the power shortage & large no. of industries coming up in the state of Maharashtra, it is anticipated that several power plants are going to be started in the future. Thus, more is going to be a great demand for Electrical Engineers. Further Ichalkaranji & Kolhapur are major Textile & Engineering industry hubs respectively, which offer excellent opportunities for electrical engineers. Presently there is an acute shortage of electrical engineers. Thus, to bridge the gap, a diploma course in electrical engineering is contemplated. This course will cater to the needs of the industry.
